Christmas decorations are up, all there is to put out now is Santa, the tree lights and lights the summer House but the weather has gone wet and snowy. All our ladies and gentlemen are looking forward to the big day, Tracey is on a non stop mince-pie production line.

Karen is the activities co-ordinator at Mellor Nook and I feel is best placed to update the Blog. She intends to update about once a week and let people know what we have been up to and planned events, activities around the home.
We are hoping that friends and relatives of people who live here will contribute to the blog giving ideas and input.
Loking forward th the next few months when we can start the bus trips again and enjoying the garden and summer house
It all starts this week, the run up to Christmas. Santa needs to come out of his hideaway and stand at the front door, lights need to be checked, food needs to be bought, rotas need to be finalised. We are wanting to put lights on the tree in the garden this year so that will probably be the job for today.
The majority of the staff went to the Alma Lodge on Saturday night for a meal and party night. The feedback is that they all had a fantastic time, eat too much, drank too much and danced too much.
Deep Snow this morning all staff got in and home safely. Landrovers are a wonderful invention (well in winter) It feels like we are the mother birds bringing back food and bedding for the babies in the nest.
This morning the road was white over and very cold. Is this a sign of things to come. The ladies and gentlemen think it looks wonderful and hope it stays for Christmas, the staff don’t agree.
Well lets see how it goes. I intend to get staff and residents to up date this when they can.
